I have been a resident of Aberdyfi since 1999. I quickly fell in love with the village and the surrounding area, and was inspired to record the environment I live in.
I have been interested in the art of photography from an early age, and in 1992 undertook a foundation photography course in Bristol, which boosted my interest and helped provide a solid technical platform to build upon.
Since this time I have been enjoying catching images on film, finding that my real passion lies in the field of landscape photography, and the natural wonders this brings. I believe that nature provides us with an assortment of interesting shapes and forms, and an array of natural lighting moods, negating the need for the use of filters or digital enhancing of images.
To this end, all work displayed on this site was taken using my faithful Canon EOS100, using colour slide film (films of choice being Fujifilm Sensia 100 or Velvia 100), or black and white negative film (Ilford Delta 100), with a variety of Sigma lenses (24mm wide angle, 35-80mm and 70-210mm). These images have then been scanned to digital format for ease of reproduction use. None of the images on this website have been digitally enhanced, with the only digital intervention being the conversion from colour to black and white image on those marked accordingly (with an asterix).
I hope that you enjoy viewing my work, and please contact me if you have any queries.
